Southern Utah University is making it possible for students to graduate with a bachelor's degree in three years.

As part of a pilot project funded by the Utah Legislature, the university will keep instructors working full-time and offer a full range of classes in the summer.

SUU President Scott Wyatt says there is no minimum size for the summer classes, so professors could wind up teaching one student if no one else signs up.

The aim is to allow students to finish school more quickly and move on to their careers.

Wyatt says the program is entering unknown territory by offering a full range of courses during the summer session.
