Republican Senator Mitt Romney is rejecting the notion that President Trump is considering a war with Iran.

Speaking with reporters at the Capitol, Senator Romney called the prospect "close to inconceivable," citing the President's past criticism for the U.S. decision to invade Iraq.

Earlier this week, the New York Times reported that the Trump administration was discussing a plan to send up to 120-thousand U.S. troops to the Middle East amid escalating tensions with Iran.
