Former St. George teacher sentenced to prison

A former St. George teacher is heading to prison for molesting students over the span of three-decades.

Curtis Payne was sentenced this week to a minimum of 60-years to life after pleading no contest to four counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

Investigators say on several occasions Payne inappropriately touched female students who sat on his lap.

The 61-year-old worked as a music teacher with the Washington County School District.
