DWR investigation poaching incident

The Department of Wildlife Resources is trying to figure out who shot a bull elk near Escalante, and left the animal to waste.

According to DWR, the elk was killed between October 19th and 22nd off State Route 12, just nine miles west of the city.

Investigators believe the poacher shot the animal from the highway and then made a U-turn to leave the area.
