Dead body found near Gooseberry Mesa

Officials are confirming a dead body was found at the bottom of a 75-foot drop by Gooseberry Mesa.

Washington County Sheriff's Sergeant, Nate Abbott, says the body was found Monday afternoon by a group of individuals riding on some of the mountain bike trails.

He says it appears the man fell from the cliff and succumbed to his injuries.

After identifying the body, officials say he was a visitor to the area and was alone when the incident occurred.
