According to officials with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands a man was found deceased inside a home damaged by the 49-acre Apple Valley Fire wildfire.

The man was found dead in the damaged structure and appeared to suffer a medical emergency. His cause of death is under investigation. Five homes were threatened by the fire as of Monday night.  

Wind drove the initial attack, fire officials said.

The fire, which was 10% contained by 10:30 p.m., began about 7:35 p.m. about 2 miles west of Apple Valley. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
