A bill that will be introduced in the state legislature will seek to clear up some of the rules regarding medical cannabis before the state starts distributing the drug.

State Senate Majority Leader Evan Vickers says his proposal would remove a requirement to use blister packs to hold medical cannabis, making it okay to use childproof jars and containers.

The bill will also seek stronger protections for medical cannabis patients at work and in the courts.

One proposed rule in the bill would also make it easier for patients to have prior convictions for medical cannabis use cleared from their records.

Vickers doesn't believe that the state will be able to fully implement its medical cannabis distribution program in March.
