We’ve heard a lot of information on the Presidents speech last night. So what were some of the thoughts of our elected political leaders in Utah. Republicans generally agreed with the President, with Senator Mike Lee calling the situation on the border a crisis that required more border patrol agents as well as an extended border wall. Republican Congressman John Curtis called for a bipartisan approach to the situation at the border as well as an end to the current partial government shutdown. Democratic Congressman Ben McAdams also called for a bipartisan approach but said Congress and the President should end the shutdown first and then talk about immigration reform.
