State lawmakers plan to call their own special session of the Utah Legislature next week to deal with issues related to the coronavirus pandemic.

Senate President Stuart Adams says the session will be held next Wednesday or Thursday.

It will be the first time lawmakers have called their own special session since voters amended the Utah Constitution to allow such an action in 2018.

Items to be discussed include dealing with the economic impact of the coronavirus and possibly shifting the state's primary election from June to August.
