A Utah father and son are safe after getting lost while hiking in Montana.  Gallatin County, Montana Sheriff Brian Gootkin says the two hikers picked the wrong time to get lost in the Spanish Peaks area Tuesday.

The unidentified father and son were reported missing by the man's wife after they failed to check in with her Tuesday.

The 12-year-old boy was located around 10 p.m., while the father was located shortly after midnight.

Both were suffering from hypothermia and were flown to the University of Utah Burn Center for treatment of frostbite.

Sheriff Gootkin says the boy was extremely lucky to survive getting lost.
