The first COVID-19 patient in Utah to receive a convalescent plasma transfusion treatment is now out of the hospital.

Twenty-four-year-old Cynthia Lemus spent 18 days in a medically induced coma at Intermountain Medical Center and was placed on a ventilator.

She was given the plasma transfusion from a former patient who had recovered from COVID-19.

Intermountain says ten other hospitalized patients have also received the treatment and are currently recovering.
