The Utah Highway Patrol is done giving state drivers any leeway when it comes to speeding.

A spokesman announced yesterday that top officials at the UHP have declared a zero-tolerance policy for speeding, especially when drivers are traveling at 70 and 80 miles per hour.

Those officials say Uthans are too comfortable going ten miles an hour over the speed limit and think "slow down" means moving back to the speed limit rather than going much slower.

The UHP believes that failure to slow down led to more than 900 crashes over Thanksgiving weekend.
