U of U Responds to Editorial From Slain Students Mother

The University of Utah is responding to an editorial from the mother of Lauren McClusky found in the Salt Lake Tribune.  In her piece, Jill McClusky criticized the school for not doing enough to prevent her daughter's murder at the hands of her former boyfriend.  In a statement, U of U officials point to an independent investigation that did find mistakes and weaknesses in campus police procedures.  However, that investigation also determined that correcting those deficiencies may not have prevented Lauren's murder.
