The University of Utah's new police chief has had a rough week but is finally in Salt Lake City and taking charge of the campus police force.

Chief Rodney Chatman says his first priority as chief is a listening tour to get the input of students, faculty and staff.

Chatman was supposed to take the reins of the department earlier this week but was stuck in Wyoming for several days due to bad weather.

He replaces former Chief Dale Brophy, who retired last year as the department was under heavy criticism for its perceived lack of action before the death of university student Lauren McCluskey.
