A flight student and an instructor managed to walk away with only minor cuts and bruises after the plane they were in crashed Thursday morning. Officials with Spanish Fork Police Department said the instructor was flying the plane at the time. "During the process of taking off the plane became airborne and for an unknown reason veered to its right," "The pilot attempted to right the plane but was unsuccessful and the plane crashed off the side of the runway coming to a rest in a ditch." The 28-year-old pilot and 35-year-old student pilot were taken to a local ambulance for non-life threatening injuries. Police say the FAA and NTSB are investigating the cause of the crash.
