Two people were injured after the small plane they were in crashed in Weber County.

Roy resident Scott Miller reacted quickly when he heard the plane crash on the side of southbound I-15 Sunday afternoon.

Miller said his wife brought two fire extinguishers from their home, which were used to put out the fire.

The plane crashed shortly after taking off from Ogden-Hinckley Airport, hitting a billboard before winding up on the ground beside the interstate.

The two people on the plane were hospitalized, while a bystander who stopped to help suffered smoke inhalation and was also sent to the hospital.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash.

Miller said he's happy both people in the plane survived the crash.
