The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is responding to a claim that it knew about sexual misconduct by a former Missionary Training Center president and did nothing about it. Lawyers for the Church asked a U.S. District Court judge to dismiss the claim by McKenna Denson in a filing yesterday. The Church denies trying to hide any bad acts by former MTC President Joseph Bishop and says the claims by Denson are too old to be considered by the court. Denson claims Bishop raped her in 1984, but the judge in the case threw out most of Denson's lawsuit earlier this month.
