Teachers in SLC planning a walkout

Teachers in the Salt Lake City school district are planning a walkout to protest state education funding.

The district sent a letter to parents this week saying schools will be on a half-day schedule on February 28th due to the walkout.

Most schools will close around noon.

The teachers are expected to march to the state Capitol and hold a rally to demand that state lawmakers make school funding a top priority.
