Kick up your heels and enjoy an evening of swing dance Feb. 14 during the 10th annual Sweetheart Swing on the third floor of the St. George Children’s Museum building. Presented by the St. George Arts Commission, dancing begins at 7 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m. Refreshments will be available.

The 19-piece Southern Utah Rebel Jazz Band will be providing Big Band sound from a variety of entertainers from the early-to-mid 20th Century.

“This is one of a select few times during the year that the incredible Rebel Jazz Band plays,” said Angie Mason, Community Arts Events Coordinator. “The feeling is exhilarating — it’s something you do not want to miss.”

In addition to the Southern Utah Rebel Jazz Band, “Happy Feet,” part of the non-profit organization St. George Swing, will perform several numbers in a floor show.

“The Sweetheart Swing is one of my favorite events of the year,” Mason added. “The combination of dancing, tasty refreshments and live music is so much fun. It’s a lovely way for people of all ages to spend Valentine’s Day — from teenagers to the retired.”

The Children’s Museum is located at 86 Main St. in St. George. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance at the St. George Art Museum, 47 E. 200 North, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Only 150 tickets will be sold.
