Suds’ triple clinches region for Pine View; Hurricane, CV both win

ST. GEORGE – Jared "Suds" Sudweeks made a 3-pointer as the clock expired in overtime as Pine View defeated Dixie 60-57 Wednesday night at "The Pit."

Sudweeks buried a deep 3-pointer from the left corner to break a 57-57 tie and send the Panthers to their ninth straight Region 9 victory with no losses.

Dallin Brown had 21 points and Sudweeks had 17 as Pine View clinched at least a tie for the region title with three games left.

Hurricane pulled into a tie with Dixie for second place by defeating Snow Canyon 58-50.

Matthew Meyers had 14 points to lead the Tigers, who are now 6-3 in play.

Canyon View eliminated Cedar from playoff contention with a 58-52 win over the Redmen.

Mason Lyman had 15 points to pace CV, which improved to 5-5 in region. Cedar, 2-8, is out of the playoff race.
