State leaders are making preparations for a possible outbreak of novel coronavirus.

A coronavirus task force made up of lawmakers, health officials and faith leaders met for the first time over the weekend.

Governor Herbert said yesterday that the risk of getting the virus remains low, though he encouraged families around the state to prepare their own plans to deal with an outbreak.

Seventeen Utahns have been tested for the virus known as COVID-19, with 15 testing negative and two tests still pending.

Herbert said using hand sanitizer is not the best way to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
