Even after following all the Covid-19 protocol set in place to travel, Charlie Kerr and his wife Sarah are now stuck in Hawaii.  The Kerr’s and their 2 children ages 15 and 18 traveled to Hawaii for a family vacation, but due a mix-up with Charlie’s tests the couple are not allowed to fly home.  Fortunately, their children were able to fly back to St. George, on March 11. But not without being patted down and their belongings checked, all due to a false negative COVID-19 test from Charlie.

Charlie Kerr and his family traveled to Las Vegas to get their Covid tests so they could travel to Hawaii.  After he received a positive test result from the Las Vegas testing site, he retested in St. George twice with both results coming back negative, as well as an antigen test saying he had already had COVID-19. They Traveled back to Las Vegas where Kerr was retested and received a negative test result.  They all went to Hawaii and had a wonderful time.  The problem was trying to get home.  Charlie and his wife Sarah were put on a travel restriction and not allowed to fly back to their hometown of St. George due to a mix-up with the test results.

The update from last night is that they are “still pretty stuck”.

Charlie has had 10 days since the false positive so they are taking him off the no-fly list, and he will be allowed to fly in 24 to 48 hours.  The couple says, No one is admitting the mistake or acknowledging that they received his negative test or vaccination info that the couple sent several times.

Now they are keeping Sara Kerr in Hawaii for 10 more days just in case she was exposed even though Hawaii isn't asking her to quarantine she just can’t get on any kind of public transportation.  Sarah Kerr says, “We're hoping that they'll accept a new test that I took today, but it can take 2 to 5 days for those results.”

The Kerr’s say they are very grateful for the St. George residents who have been able to help them out both in Hawaii, and St. George and said they are hearing from the congressional delegates and their staff who are trying to help them.
