SR 148 Now Closed For The Winter

(Iron County, UT)  --  You'll now need a snowmobile instead of a car if you want to use State Route 148 in the Cedar Breaks National Monument.  State transportation officials closed the road for the winter season for good yesterday, citing heavy snow and ice accumulation.  Once more snow piles up on the highway, the monument will turn the snow above the highway into a groomed snowmobile track.
