A Utah lawmaker wants to let state voters recall sitting U.S. senators.

Republican Representative Tim Quinn of Heber City has introduced a bill that would allow voters to gather signatures on a petition to recall a senator.

If they gather signatures equal to 25-percent of the state's active voters, the lieutenant governor would be required to put the recall measure on the statewide ballot.

Quinn said yesterday his bill was designed to make senators more accountable to those who elected them.
