Police have identified the 49-year-old man killed in an avalanche outside of Coalville on Saturday as Jason Lyman of Mona.

Lt. Andrew Wright with Summit County Sheriffs Office says they received an SOS call triggered by an avalanche beacon at 1:20 p.m.

A group of snowmobilers near Humpty Creek worked to dig the buried snowmobiler out, he was buried for 30 to 40 minutes before the group found him, Lt. Wright says.

It has been a deadly year for avalanche deaths in the area including 41 year old Brad Stapley from here in St. George.
