Officials in Provo are hoping to start a new airport expansion project in the next two years.

The airport's manager says the terminal needs more gates to handle current passenger traffic and future needs.

The airport plans to add four commercial gates and hopes to attract additional flights to destinations not currently offered by Allegiant Airlines.

An eight-million-dollar grant has already been approved by the FAA to help pay for the expansion.
