ST. GEORGE – The Pine View Panthers finished the first half of Region 9 play with a perfect 6-0 record after beating Desert Hills 67-55 Wednesday night at DHHS.

Pine View started the game on fire, outscoring the Thunder 13-2 in the game's first four minutes. Desert Hills rallied and pulled to within  46-44 late in the third quarter, but never could take the lead.

Jared Koller scored 24 points to lead the way for Pine View, which has a bye Friday as the second half of region play begins.

Dixie stayed within a game of the Panthers by capturing a 54-52 road win at Canyon View. The Flyers led most of the game, but the Falcons took a 50-49 lead in the final minute. Hayden Cottle helped Dixie outscore Canyon View 5-2 in the closing minute. Cottle had 17 points as the Flyers improve to 5-1 in region.

And Hurricane rallied from 10 down in the first quarter to pull away from Cedar 87-78. Daxton Dayley and Dallin Davis scored 18 points apiece for the Tigers.

Pine View leads Region 9 at 6-0, with Dixie at 5-1. There's a logjam after that with Hurricane, Desert Hills and Canyon View all tied at 3-3 in region play. Cedar is 1-5 and Snow Canyon is 0-6.
