ST. GEORGE – Behind 27 points from Michael Moore, Pine View cruised to an easy 79-50 win over Hurricane Friday night at the Pit.

The Panthers used a 10-0 first-quarter run and an 8-0 second-quarter run to break the game open. Pine View improves to 5-0 in Region 9 play with the win, all alone in first place in the region.

Meanwhile, Dixie doused Desert Hills 45-36 behind stellar defense and a balanced scoring effort. Six different Flyers scored six points or more, led by Hayden Cottle's 11. Dixie is in second place at 4-1 in region play. Desert Hills, which got 14 points from Carson thornton, falls to 3-2.

Cedar got its first region win in the celebrated return of star Dallin Grant. He and teammate Treyton Tibbs scored 19 points each as the Redmen beat Snow Canyon 62-46. Cedar is 1-4 in region play. The Warriors fall to 0-6.

Region play resumes Wednesday night with three games: Cedar at Hurricane on 94.9 FM/890 AM-KDXU; Pine View at Desert Hills on ESPN 97.7 FM; and Dixie at Canyon View.
