A renewed search for Susan Cox Powell, a young West Valley City mom who disappeared in December 2009, will take place in an abandoned mine shaft in Utah’s West Desert over the next month. Another new development is that now The parents of the missing Utah woman will get their chance to sue the state of Washington over the death of her children.  The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals announced yesterday that it was reinstating a lawsuit filed by Judy and Chuck Cox, the parents of Susan Cox Powell.  The lawsuit claims the Washington state social services department is to blame for the death of Charlie and Braden Powell because they let the two boys visit their father at his home.  In 2012, Josh Powell killed his sons with a hatchet and then killed himself by blowing up his home.
