New Bill to Lighten Financial Burden of Lower Income College Students
A new bill aimed at lightening the financial burdens of lower-income college students is getting support from lawmakers.
The House Education Committee gave the Access Utah Promise Scholarship program a green light on Monday.
The law would cover tuition and general fees for full-time students whose financial aid packages fall short.
Sponsor Representative Derrin Owens says the funds would be available to students attending state universities and technical colleges in Utah.
