LGBTQ students at BYU are celebrating after a change to the school's honor code regarding homosexual behavior and relationships.

BYU sophomore Danny Niemann says the new version of the honor code takes a weight off his shoulders.

BYU's website notes that the code was last approved and updated on February 12th with the relevant section notably absent.

After some initial confusion, the school confirmed yesterday that the section had been removed and any questions about it would be answered on a case by case basis.

LGBTQ advocates at the university say they believe students will no longer face discipline for engaging in same-sex relationships on campus.

BYU sophomore Lilly Bitter is happy with the new policy, but says more will have to be done before same-sex relationships are accepted on campus.
