Las Vegas couple arrested on multiple charges

Investigative skills on the part of Cedar City Police officers led to the arrest of a Las Vegas man and woman, Saturday. Officers responded to a call for service at a local hotel, and after seeing signs of criminal behavior, obtained a search warrant. Officers found fake ID’s, fraudulent credit cards, a fake hand gun, and evidence of various other crimes .Investigators also determined the suspects were involved in local ‘porch pirate’ thefts.

Church makes major change to FamilySearch

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made a big change to its comprehensive genealogical database. Users of the FamilySearch database can now document same-sex marriages and adoptions on the website.  In the past, users were unable to list any same-sex relationships when building family trees.

Utah Car Dealers donate pumper cars to kids

Kids in Salt Lake City are getting a new way to exercise and have fun thanks to the Utah Car Dealers Association and Mobility for Kids.  The two groups donated 100 pumper cars to area schools on Monday.

Governor calls special session

Governor Gary Herbert is calling together the Legislature for a vote on a tax reform bill.  Lawmakers will be in Salt Lake City tomorrow for a special session that will discuss making amendments to state law affecting taxes and revenue.

Nevada man dies in Old Hwy 91 crash

A Nevada man has died following a crash on Old Highway 91 in Washington County.  Sheriff's officials say the 69-year-old lost control of his truck near mile marker 15 on Monday and drove off the side of the highway.  Witnesses tried to pull the man from the vehicle, but he died at the scene.

New outdoor retail show coming to Salt Lake City

A new outdoor retail show is ready to come to Salt Lake City this upcoming summer.  The Big Gear Show will hold a five-day event at the Salt Palace starting on July 21st that will be open to the public.

Utah Congressman say no on impeachment

Utah Congressman John Curtis says he will vote no on impeachment articles leveled by Democrats against President Trump.  Curtis had previously said he would keep an open mind about the impeachment hearings.  But yesterday Curtis said that the articles of impeachment finally brought forward made it an easy decision to vote no.

Sandy man arrested for child porn

A Sandy man is in custody after authorities say he had more than 13-thousand images of child pornography in his possession.  According to court documents, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force launched an investigation into 40-year-old Douglas Saltsman back in May after tracing a video compilation file back to him.
