Mail in ballots on the way

The city or St. George will conduct its municipal general election in a vote by mail process and ballots have already started to arrive in mail boxes ahead of the November 5th election date.

Semi - truck fire in Washington

There are no injuries after a semi-truck caught fire yesterday on I-15 in Washington.  The truck's fuel tank burst into flames after the driver lost control and struck a guardrail.  The driver was able to escape unharmed, but several firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation.

Couple in jail on drug charges after traffic stop

A California couple is in jail after they were caught with a kilo of cocaine in their car.  A state trooper pulled the man and woman over on Saturday near St. George and eventually found the drugs inside the woman's purse.  They were booked into the Washington County jail on felony drug charges.

Avalanche warnings in place for the winter

The recent snowfall across the Wasatch Front and Western Uinta mountains is raising avalanche concerns and we’re not too far behind for the mountains in Southern Utah.  The Utah Avalanche Center recommends now is the time skiers, snowboarders and sled riders should start preparing.

Mitt Romney admits to having an alias

Senator Mitt Romney may have admitted the alias he used to create a fake Twitter account to follow political news.  The Utah Republican said he had the account during an interview with The Atlantic, causing other reporters to start digging to try to find it.

Outdoor Recreation Summit this week in St. George

The annual Utah Outdoor Recreation Summit is scheduled to be held next week in St. George. The summit will be held at the Dixie Convention Center in St. George from Oct. 22-24. The theme of the 6th annual summit is Roots and routes: Preserving our past and forging our future.

Reactions mixed to increase in sales tax

Early reactions to a possible increase in Utah's sales tax on food are very mixed.  The task force appointed by the Utah State Legislature to reform the state tax code unveiled a list of wide-ranging proposals Friday.

Search for hunter delayed

The search for a hunter missing for nearly a week in Summit County is being delayed because of bad weather.  Kevin Bardsley is organizing volunteer efforts to help find 69-year-old Carl Crumrine of West Virginia.

Groundbreaking for LDS Temple

Thousands attended a groundbreaking for a new temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Saratoga Springs on Saturday. Elder Craig C. Christensen, a local area president for the LDS church, presided over the event, attended by members of the church and community leaders.
