High school sports: Pine View stays unbeaten; DH, Dixie get wins

ST. GEORGE – Pine View stayed unbeaten in region play by beating Canyon View 60-53 Wednesday night.

Dallin Brown had 18 points and the Panthers outscored the Falcons 14-7 in the fourth quarter. Pine View is now 4-0 in Region 9 play.

Keeping pace a game behind were the Desert Hills Thunder and the Dixie Flyers. Dixie edged Hurricane 47-46 with the game-winning shot coming from Hayden Cottle with six seconds left in the game. A last-second 3-pointer by Hurricane was off the mark at the buzzer.

Desert Hills started the game with an 11-0 run and never trailed in a 63-56 victory over Snow Canyon. Carson Thornton had 14 points and four assists to lead the way for D-Hills.

The Flyers and Thunder are both 3-1. Canyon View is fourth in Region 9 at 3-2 and Hurricane fifth at 2-2.
