Governor Gary Herbert is calling together the Legislature for a vote on a tax reform bill.

Lawmakers will be in Salt Lake City tomorrow for a special session that will discuss making amendments to state law affecting taxes and revenue.

The plan proposed by a special task force on restructuring state taxes includes an income tax cut, restoration of the sales tax on food and creation of new taxes on some service businesses.

In an unusual move, Lt. Governor Spencer Cox disagreed with the need for a special session, saying he believes lawmakers could craft a better bill.
