GOP State Senate candidate charged with sex abuse

UTAH COUNTY, Utah (KDXU) - A Republican running for the Utah Senate in District 23 is now charged with forcible sexual abuse. 

Forty-six-year-old Brandon Beckham is accused of being "wild" and "going too far" when he was with a social acquaintance in Pleasant Grove in June 2021. 

He calls the timing of the charges "disturbing" as they were filed just a few days before he filed his candidacy.
