State election officials say there are more than 100-thousand ballots left to count before Utah's primary elections can be certified.

The state Elections Office issued an update yesterday afternoon, saying about 111-thousand ballots were still uncounted by their estimate.

Most of the ballots remaining are in Salt Lake, Weber and Davis counties.

That could be good news for former Governor Jon Huntsman, who currently trails Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox in the Republican primary for governor.

Huntsman is thought to have strong support in those counties, and the uncounted ballots could provide him with the votes he needs to win.
