An independent review has concluded that an officer involved shooting last June in Parowan was not justified. the determination was made by the Iron County Attorney's Office. The incident occurred on June 28th at the TA Truck Stop in Parowan. Enoch City Police Corporal Jeremy Dunn was the second officer to arrive at the scene. Dunn engaged the suspect, Ivonne Casimiro, and after a failed attempt to subdue Casimiro with a tazer Dunn fired three shots hitting her twice in the knee. The Iron County Attorney concluded that "under the circumstances that existed in this case, it was not objectionally reasonable for Corporal Dunn to use deadly force. the officer will not be charged concluding that even though the shooting was not justified, the state would not be able to prove a criminal intent.
