I have never thought that this would be a problem, especially for a member of Congress. Congressman Ben McAdams says he hasn't been able to secure a place to live in Washington, DC because he's refusing to take a paycheck during the ongoing government shutdown.  The former Salt Lake County mayor said that he can't get into an apartment until he has a paycheck stub to show he has a job.  McAdams calls it a minor inconvenience for him and says he's staying with friends at the present time.  He adds that Congress members should be in the same position as any other federal employee when it comes to not getting paid during the shutdown.
