Utah Congressman Chris Stewart thinks President Trump will be making a mistake if he declares a national emergency to get funding for a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Republican congressman issued a statement yesterday saying such a declaration would be a dangerous precedent that America will regret in the future.

He says a future Democratic president may declare gun violence or climate change a national emergency and he worries what action that president may take.

He concludes his statement by saying that he supports securing America's borders but feels the ability to take executive action on such issues must be limited.
