State budget officials say Utah can continue funding some federal government programs affected by the current shutdown for a limited period.  The executive director of the Governor's Office of Management and Budget said yesterday that the state is starting to make plans for what will happen if the shutdown lasts another six to eight weeks.  The state continues to work to keep national parks open through a combination of state funding and private donations.  The state also has money for programs such as WIC and SNAP through the end of February.
