An app that gives Utah students a chance to report possible threats of violence is being applauded by state lawmakers.

A report presented to members of Utah Legislature yesterday finds that the SafeUT app has received over 300 tips alerting officials to potential threats.

Of that number, 245 were directly related to threats against schools.

Over 700-thousand Utah students have access to the SafeUT app.
