A teenager recently found competent to stand trial for the sexual assault and murder of a 12-year-old girl will take a plea deal in the case.

The attorney for 18-year-old Jayden Sterzer said yesterday his client will plead guilty to charges in both juvenile and adult court.  Sterzer will plead guilty to rape of a child in juvenile court, and murder and forcible sexual assault in adult court.  Sterzer was arrested in 2015 for the death of his neighbor Kailey Vijil, who police say was lured from her West Valley City home to help look for a lost cat.
